Quran Verse Finder is an offline Quran reader and search app. This policy explains, plainly, what the app does and does not do with your information.

What the app stores on your device

All of this stays on your phone. None of it is uploaded anywhere, and it is deleted when you uninstall the app.

• The Quran text, its Urdu and English translations, the word-by-word breakdown and the commentaries. These ship inside the app and are read from your device, not from a network.
• Your bookmarks and reading history — the ayahs and pages you save, and the ones you have opened.
• Your settings — interface language, theme, search sensitivity, which translations to show.
• The offline voice model, if you choose to download it.

The app has no login, no profile, and no way to sync any of this to another device.

The microphone

The app asks for microphone access for one purpose: to hear a recitation and find the ayah being recited. It listens only during a search or a listening session you have started, and never in the background.

What happens to the audio depends on which voice engine is in use.

Offline voice

If you download the offline voice model (57 MB, optional), your recitation is recognised entirely on your device. The audio does not leave your phone and is not stored — it is held in memory only long enough to be recognised, then discarded.

Online voice

If you have not downloaded the offline model, the app uses your device's own Android speech recognition service. On most phones that service is provided by Google, and it may send the audio to Google's servers to recognise it. That processing is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and by your device's own speech settings, not by this app. Quran Verse Finder never receives, stores or forwards that audio itself.

You can avoid online recognition entirely by downloading the offline voice model from Settings, or by not using voice search at all — every search can be typed.

Network connections

The app works fully offline. It connects to the internet only in these cases:

• Downloading the offline voice model, when you ask for it. The file is fetched from a public GitHub release or from Hugging Face. Those hosts see the request as any web server would — including your IP address — and neither receives anything else about you from this app.
• Online voice recognition, as described above, handled by your device's speech service.
• Checking for app updates, so that fixes can reach you without waiting for a store release. This sends only what is needed to identify which version of the app to serve, and is handled by Expo's update service (privacy policy).

There is no other network traffic. There is no server operated by this app.

What the app does not do

• No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
• No analytics, crash reporting, or usage tracking of any kind.
• No third-party trackers or social media SDKs.
• No collection of your name, email, phone number, contacts, location, photos, or any other personal information.
• No selling or sharing of data, because none is collected.

Children

The app collects nothing from anyone, of any age. It contains the text of the Quran and its translations, and is suitable for general audiences.

Permissions the app requests

You can refuse the microphone permission and still use every other part of the app; search by typing works exactly the same.

Deleting your data

Everything the app stores is on your device. Uninstalling the app removes all of it. You can also remove the downloaded voice model on its own from Settings → Offline voice → Remove the downloaded voice.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address and the date at the top will change.
